Everything I Hate About Myself I See in Hillary, by Judy Bachrach

a lz, now let me see if i got this right, you are saying that it is fair for a secretary/ditch digger/factory worker/policeman to pay a higher percentage of their income in taxes than a business owner that makes more than $200,000 a year? did you not hear warren buffet speak on this matter? he pays less taxes than his secretary; you think this is fair? oh, and before you make an assumption. we have a business, make more than $200,000 and we think it is not fair. … are you that greedy? we live quite nicely, we pay our employees well but they are young, with small children, a mortgage, car payments, insurance payments, high fuel bills, high grocery bills, etc. we need to pump money into the economy… i forget who said, ‘give the money to the poor people, they will spend it.’ people with money invest money, this is not going to help the economy bounce back.

What is the most life-changing book you've ever read?

i’ve read all of my life, anything and everything i could get my hands on but the book that came to my mind, without any thought, when i read the question was ‘journey of souls’ by michael newton. i had a near death experience as a child, and despite attending parochial school what i experienced was nothing like the religion i was raised in… in fact, it wasn’t religious a all… visions of jesus did not dance in my head. when recuperating i had a private tutor who allowed my mind ‘free rein’ and encouraged my less than traditional positions/thoughts but upon returning to school i had endless arguments/debates? with the nuns who were having none of it. this book, more or less reinforced my memory of my experience.

when i stopped my seething long enough for a bit of introspection i realized that i was projecting to an inordinate degree. i tend to be a ‘chameleon’ at times, usually to put others at ease but nonetheless, not what i consider one of my better attributes. watching her pretend to be ‘one of the factory gals’ or ‘joe sixpack’ drives me crazy. i am also capable of a bit of triangulation on a bad day. we should all spend more time looking in the mirror as opposed to out the window.

Did Sen. Obama clinch the Democratic nomination last night?

potus, here is a ‘bit’ of her experience that you do not hear much about. i posted it earlier but after everyone was 4 pages down: as i have posted on this site about a month ago… hillary clinton sat for the bar in washington dc and failed. she was fired from the watergate commission as a result of unethical behavior, conspiring to violate the constitution, the rules of confidentiality, the rules of the house., and on and on and on. http://www.northstarwriters.com/dc163.htm the head of the harvard school of law described barack obama as brilliant. he was voted president of the harvard law review by his peers[rich white boys,] they voted him as the one in their class most likely to become president[that would be president of the good ole us of a.] he has more scruples in his little finger than both of the clintons combined. he does not take the easy way out, he does not pander—see gas holiday tax. it is very difficult to be truthful in politics-this guy has guts and a brain and an education. btw, i am a white baby boomer.

thomas sowell is a conservative… a libertarian to be exact and a little to the right of attila the hun.

Did Sen. Obama clinch the Democratic nomination last night?

that was a ‘tad’ rude. one should be allowed to address misinformation and spin when one sees it. facts are always such a difficult thing to digest when at diametrically opposed odds to one’s personally held views. you do not have to acknowledge, respond or even read posts that threaten your world view.

Did Sen. Obama clinch the Democratic nomination last night?

renata, read this. it is hysterical and informative… it is also the reason that you can not get through to some of the people using facts. :) http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/20626517/hillarys_bitter_vict…

Did Sen. Obama clinch the Democratic nomination last night?

doll lady, i am originally from pa and i did not understand what a vote of present meant… i think the way it is used in illinois is unique and i like what it stands for. most people are not familiar with the practice and clinton tried to use it as spin in one of her many attacks on obama.

no one can win in the general election without the support of the loyal, black vote. hillary does not stand a chance. also, why would you want a pathological liar for president of the united state? we had one last time and look where it got us.

Who Stands to Gain the Most in Indiana and North Carolina: Clinton, Obama or the Republicans?

guess he learned to ‘bob’ and ‘weave’ and the experience just did not matter much.

Who Stands to Gain the Most in Indiana and North Carolina: Clinton, Obama or the Republicans?

it’s the press deni, they are guiding the dialog and the emphasis on sensation, anything to gain market share, hence, the shark ‘feeding frenzy’ with wright. when it comes to underestimating the intelligence of the american public they lead the pack. what they are not getting is that the internet has really educated people in ways that could not have been imagined. but having said all that… remember oj?

Liz Smith: Barbara-Walters-Affair Headlines Made Me Laugh

define lady… if a ‘gentleman’ has an affair is he no longer a gentleman? why should it be any different for a woman? these are antediluvian concepts that, regardless of your moral positions, do not allow true equality between men and women.

wOw's Views on the News: Will Pinocchio Be the Next U.S. President?

i do not believe that obama lied… when he said he could no sooner denounce wright than he could his white grandmother, he, the reverend wright was not publicly castigating obama, although wright’s actions were hurting him. what wright did at the national press club was, metaphorically speaking, spit in obama’s face… he had to reject him at that point. circumstances change… if you say you will love your husband forever and walk in and find him in bed with another woman, reject him and throw him out… did you lie when you said you would love him forever? one of the reasons i am ardently for obama is because i believe, that in spite of all the pressures on him to lie[think gas holiday tax,] he does tell the truth. telling the truth is a lot harder when others are ‘pandering’ for votes.
