Olbermann and Matthews Take It on the Chin from Hillary!

uh, excuse me… did you not listen to her at the debate? she has stated emphatically that we would OBLITERATE iran. hello, wake up and smell the coffee… it is burning. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/babylonbeyond/2008/04/iran-hillarys-t.ht… it is a play for the jewish vote, either that or megalomania. another WAR president; just what we need. read the article and see how the rest of the world took that comment. she is dangerous, she has no executive abilities, for those of you who would argue check out how she ran her campaign. rationalize that if you can. she is a policy wonk, good at assimilating data and spitting it back out. this is not what you want for a president of what is left of these united states. she was fired from the watergate committee for lying, conspiring to violate the constitution, the rules of the committee, the rules of the house, unethical behavior. oh, yes, did i mention that when she sat for the bar in wahington, dc… she failed. do some research on this woman before you defend her with your dying breath.

when i said their hearts were in the right place i was referring to their love of their country. i really believe they genuinely care. olbermann was one of the first to start calling bush out on his insanity regarding the war. matthews never went for the war. why, i wonder, do women take affront over comments such as those you mentioned. if they comment on obama’s ears, or mccain’s age it is not sexist. why is it sexist if they say the same types of things about hillary? if these comments are made by other women are they sexist? i just don’t get it. she says she’s tough and she can take it but then cries foul. she wants to play with the boys but she wants to change all of the rules to suit herself.

i agree… sometimes it really aggravates me.

On '60 Minutes:' Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia On and Off the Court

it is incredible to me that you can be that intelligent and at the same time that rigid and stupid. he is a disgrace to the country. he, more than anyone is responsible for the debacle that ensued after the supreme court anointed bush. to assume, when everything in nature and society evolves, that the constitution is a ‘static’ document, frozen in the 18th century is patently absurd. having said that, i can’t imagine how sandra day o’connor rationalized her vote. she has stood up to this man time and time again and, yet, in the most important vote of the court, one that impacted our nation, its’ standing in the world, our military forces, brought to its’ knees, our economic stability, torn asunder, our invasion of privacy, totally violated… she caved.

This Is Not an Endorsement ... I Just Like My Mattress

well, its come to this, sad to say but i am very particular about the type of mattress i sleep on. when i was a kid i could have slept on the floor if i had to… no more.

behave more maturely than some of the big guys who are positioned to give us what is laughingly called “hard news” and what is mostly egotistical analysis.” i tend to disagree… this is not ‘hard’ news. matthews and russert, carlson, and maybe olberson[i see him more as a social conscience,] are political pundits. they are paid for their opinions NOT for reporting hard news but for interpreting it. as for matthews behavior: “Fascinating and likable as he can be, sometimes when Chris is interviewing dignified and mature spokespersons, you can see the pain on their faces as he repeatedly interrupts them and they are too decent to shout back.)” i believe that he is classic ADHD, his mind races and polite discourse does not move quickly enough for him. this is not pc but he is typically irish-catholic. my father was a lot like chris. about these guys. i believe that their hearts are in the right place. remember that the new york times editorial page just called hillary out for her behavior.

Have you ever experienced sex discrimination? If so, what did you do about it?

candace… i am glad that you brought up the defeat of the bill… this is the problem with the supreme court seating too many conservatives. this is a timely subject for this site. i just found mccains position on this. he is scarrrry. so, all of those women who would consider voting for mccain if their candidate is not chosen—think again. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/23/mccain-opposes-equal-pay-_n_983…

wOw's Views on the News: Rupert Murdoch Bids $580M for Newsday

julia, just maybe it is not ‘just’ about money anymore? after all, he is a counterpart to king midas. what if it is all about control? fox news has been losing market share, they reflect the views of the hard right. gw has taken this country into the tank and some are going weary of the nonsense spewed from fox. what if his motives are now about dominating the media markets in order to control the philosophy they feed us? these philosophies shape our world view and most people do not question things as much as they should.

i don’t know about the apocalypse but ‘BIG BROTHER’ certainly comes to mind.

Does a Little Obama 'Elitism' Go a Long Way in Politics?

ellie, i was raised in south central pa, near lancaster, lancaster is now being touted as an exurb of philly. as i have posted elsewhere on this site, the people in that area and in the center of pa do not like what they call ouschlanders[sp?] ouschlanders are defined as someone from outside the confines of one’s own county… NOT country — county. they take isolationism to all new plateaus. obama was 100% on when he described those people. he did not do it in a degrading fashion. the reason this even came up was in response to a question by someone at the fund raiser. they asked why he was having difficulty securing the votes of the white population making under 50,000 a year. his response was that they felt that the gov’t had let them down and obama agrees that the gov’t has let these people down. he then went on to say that they then clung to the things that made them feel secure, their religion and their guns[hunting is very big in penna.] to say that this whole fiasco has been spun out of whole cloth is an understatement.

in this wonderful country of ours… one drop of black blood in your genetic make-up -you are considered black.

The Subway: A Peaceful and Pristine Oasis?

it has been many years since i was on a subway. the last time was in austrailia, while clean, it was dark and gloomy, similar to the nyc trains. the tube in london was quite another story, bright and clean. when i lived in manhattan i rode the trains more often… oasis is not one of the words that comes to mind when i think back on those experiences.

What routine medical procedure scares you the most?

it is not fear of the tests but the fear of what the results might be that terrifies me. so… i don’t take them.

we should be afraid, very afraid of ALL of them. and as to your question about the laws. clinton removed the protection of too much power in too few hands. this and glass stegall act is another reason not to vote for hillary clinton. abc, and their emphasis on ‘flag pins’ at the debate is a prime example of how the media manipulates us. they focus our interest on inanities and manipulate us into accomplishing their goals. the people are becoming wiser but only when it is so blatant even a child could see.
