Happy Birthday, Senator McCain. I appreciate your years of service to our country and I have admired and respected you in the past. However, I too wish you many happy and healthy years as the Senator from Arizona, because I believe the torch has been passed to the next generation. You will be needed for your wise counsel as we meet the challenges of the future.

Gore’s speech was wonderful. And hey we traded Joe Lieberman for Susan Eisenhower and Jim Leach-I think we got the better end of that deal. You know the Repubs have to find something to say and we all know Obama could have given his speech in a phone booth and they would have had something nasty to say. Just jealous!

Maizie, What a wonderful first hand account from a very relevant perspective. Nothing has been the same for any of us since-our generation was immersed in these huge issues of social and political justice. Maybe that is why we feel such immense pride when we see the rainbow of faces at the convention, but still wonder why we have so far yet to go. Maybe Obama is the start of another kind of march.

Such a deeply felt speech and he had such a belief in the rightness of his cause, he knew nothing else mattered. Our country has been blessed with some truly great leaders. Let us hope that is the future as well.

Michelle was awesome and she is right I will be proud to tell my grandchildren that this is the moment we took our country back, to make it a better place for all the future generations. I loved her connection to those who have paved the way in the past. The Kennedy tribute reminded me of what it felt like to be so inspired and feel so much hope for our nation and its people.
