Beverly, I don’t want McCain because of all the reasons you stated about him……his age is just the straw that breaks the back. I’m all for the wisdom we Seniors bring to everything about our lives and our Country’s welfare……non the less I still don’t believe a person be it woman or man (of that age) should serve this Country in the role of the President. As to the wisdom of age………I tell my grandchildren and other young people ‘If you have the opportunity to have conversations with the elderly population please do so……they have a lot of knowledge and history to share with you’. I was born during the Great Depression so I’ve seen a lot and had the pleasure to watch the great changes that have transpired during the past 76 years in the World……..What a ride!

My greatest fear is we sabotage ourselves (Democrats). The thought of McCain winning is terrifying……I’m 75 years old, intelligent and a wonderful person, but I know at this age no one should have the most powerful job in the World. My God, he would be in office until he’s 80 years old. Are people out of their minds. Just look around at most men that age……Do you like what you see. Our minds are not as sharp…..our memories are getting worse day by day. Our patience is diminished. I love myself…..my age and glad to have a good life, but certainly would not want anyone my age to have the power over my Country and the World that the roll of President of the United States has. I like Clinton and Obama and wish they would stop the infighting, but either one of them would make a wonderful leader of our Country. (I prefer Clinton) I will back either candidate when the choice is finally made. We just can’t allow another 8 years under the rule of the Republicans. McCain thinks too much like Bush……let’s face it, Bush is the worst President this Country has ever had. He’s an embarrasment to our wonderful Country. I was in Europe a few years ago and a young Student asked me if I liked Bush…..I responded that No, I didn’t. His response was “You’re a smart American” It’s going to take us years to build back the respect for our Country that Bush has destroyed. Please, Please just work to have either Clinton or Obama sit in the White House by this time next year.

JMK, Get a friend to come in once in a while and get give you some free time to be alone. Even a short drive to your local Library to read a good book. Take a stroll in the park. My heart goes out to you in your situation…..Alzheimers is a hideous disease. Good luck my friend

Carol, Go out on your own….don’t stay at home because you don’t have a partner. I go out to dinner…..movies…..ball games and most everything by myself. I’m great company with or with out someone else! ha!

I’m a Widow and have been living alone now for a little over 6 years….most of the time I like my alone time, but when the sun goes down and I don’t have my husband to share my day with I miss him terribly. I like to read and watch a lot of television……thank goodness for TEVO! When the weather is warm I like to hang out in my pool. I have two great grandsons and love when they come for visits….grandchildren are the best. I love this web site and enjoy reading all the comments and responses to the question of the day. It’s like making new friends and keeps the days less lonely.

I think we should all ignore Dr. Klein and then he would go away. As long as we allow him to bait us he will continue.

I’m a native Californian and proud of it! I’ve lived in Northern CA since 1951. (when I was a new bride) We have great weather…..all nationalities of people (which I love). Silicon Valley…….lot’s of very smart people live here. I read last week that San Jose was considered the richest City in the Country. I’m not one of the richest but a very happy Citizen. We have great parks……fabulous Resturants and any kind of entertainment you want. I never dreamed when I was a little girl that I would some day live in a beautiful home with a swimming pool and spa…..I also love my trees, I have 10 redwoods and a total of 23 trees in my yard. We are close to the Mountains and closer to the Ocean. This (in my opinion) is the BEST place in the World to live. One major draw back……..It’s very expensive, housing is out of the world. I’m grateful I bought my house years ago, I couldn’t afford to buy it now.

My most fullfilling meeting was in 2001. I meet President Clinton and Hillary at a private graduation party at Stanford University. We, my husband and I had a long conversation with both of them…….talking about his Presidency…..Hillary’s job as a Senator, (which she said she loved)…. Basketball, President Clinton said he would stay late in the Oval office to watch Stanford play…..and get scolded by Hillary. (they both laughed) I told her I hoped I lived long enough to see her as our first woman President…I still hope and pray she wins. They are both so loving to each other. It was an honor to be in their presense and have such a wonderful conversation. President Clinton is the most Charasmatic person I’ve had the privilege to be with, the room was filled with a rare energy when he was there. I’ve met other important people in my life, but this was the very best!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve said to my friends……many people pay thousands upon thousands of dollars to be in their presense and shake his and her hand. To have a personal conversation is beyond fabulous. I love both of them.

Dr. Klein, I think you need to start your own Web page where other men can listen to your tripe…… I’m a 76 year old woman and have been there in the time’s you say were so good. It’s alright to have slaves if you are the slave owner……..if you’re the slave, not so good. Yes some things were better back in the 40’s and 50’s. I vote for FREEDOM everytime….I love being a women who can make my own choices and not just being an appendage of my father and husband. I admire and respect the young women today.

I didn’t know what a Kindle was…….looked it up and now I’ll save my money to buy one. As I get older, almost 76, I find I get tired holding a book. Sounds great! Thanks for mentioning it Whoopi.

I have a disability and I’m always in Pain……I take long hot showers which help me to relax. sometimes I feel guilty, but not enough to stop. I do try to do most other things in a Green way…….

Women are more intelligent than men……..We are the creators of the Human Race! If you were God (or who ever or what ever started this whole thing) wouldn’t you make the species that procreated the most intelligent. If it were up to men the Human Race might not have continued. It’s also our fault that men grow up to be the way they are………we raised them.

Come on……..any one who would tell the number of all their lover’s (I’m sure this is what you are inquiring) is foolish. After all some things are only to be known by our own Souls. This is what makes us the unique people we are. As I always tell my granddaughter’s…….it’s no one’s business but your own. Enjoy your memories…….I’m 76 years old and I sure enjoy all my memories of lover’s of the past.
