I would say the writers of 24 did woman a dis-service. During those scenes where she catered to her spoiled daughter.

I wanted to shake both of them and say Wake Up…………

I was irritated with the writing.  Otherwise it’s one of my favorite TV programs.

Don’t you think that the Bearer’s of Future Humanity (WOMEN) should never be forced into the military………..I only believe it’s OK if they choose to serve their Country.

If we made it mandatory our whole way of life would be different.  I don’t think too many people would go along with that kind of law.

As I’ve heard all my life…………Being a Mother is the hardest job in the world. (I am one..children, grandchildren and great grandchildren)

I will probably be boo’d by the real stringent women libbers but I really hate seeing our women who are Mothers being sent over to the Wars…………I believe they could hold down their duties here and do both jobs justice.

If they want to go to battle then that’s their choice, but I don’t think it should be mandatory.  I know of women who joined the service and loved it until they got married and had children.  Then their lives and those of their families became so difficult……..no one was happy.  Not woman………not man/woman………..not children.

Another benefit our former military have access too, is continual medical care in a Veterans hospital.  If you work and are able to pay a partial payment that’s wonderful…………but if unemployed you get wonderful care in Veterans hospital.

I have a newphew who was diagnosed at a Veterans hospital with an incurable cancer.  He just went through a year and a half (trying to safe his life) of Cancer treatments.

Had he been in a regular hospital the charges would have amounted to well over a million dollars.

He died two weeks ago…………..but he was given an additional year of his life that he might not otherwise have had.

And of course I think our Medical field continues to learn from those Patients with incurable diseases.

As you well know I have always been totally against the War in Iraq….

After we did attack a Sovereign nation without cause the least our President could have done was make

sure our Service personnel had proper materials of War…….projective gear…….protected transportation.

Bush went to this War like a little kid playing war………no preparation.

If it had been conducted correctly the War should have ended in a few months………not going onto 8 years

I think George Bush tried more than any other President to be a Dictator………if anyone complained you were called unpatriotic…..we weren’t allowed to see our beloved sons and daughters shipped home in Coffins….they brought them quietly through the back door and pretended everything was going good in the war………I really get incensed when I think about how horrible the Iraq War has been from the very beginning.

We had less TERRORIST problems in the World before Bush took us to an unjustified War.

He and his administration caused more FEAR to develop in our Country than any Terrorist ever could.

They with their terrible Ideas……….Just turned all the Terrorist loose……….like taking the fence down around the pits of snakes, now the snakes are everywhere.

I pray you son comes home soon  Frannie………..and all the other mothers sons and daughters.

I’m more concerned about getting them all out not getting them in………

But if they have to go Women should not be kept out of making their own choices.

Frannie, I’m so happy for you………there is nothing to compare when the lives of our children are in dangers way.

My two Sons were in the Military during the Viet Nam war.

We are one of the few (if any other) Country who never takes the territory that is being fought over.

We send our Men and women to fight other peoples Wars…………We pay for these Wars with our taxes and the life’s of our Young people.

I believe if I remember my History right………..Wars were started to get more Land, control more people………Now days it’s all Political.

Have a Hot Spot anywhere in the World…………And off we go to help these Countries.  But also note the Countries we help have something we want………..OIL.  We as normal Citizens don’t seem to benefit from the Oil either………just the Rich Oil people

I don’t see us going into Countries where people are starving or being slaughtered. We don’t benefit from those Wars.

When it’s all said and done the only people who benefit are the Rich and Powerful.  They always reap the rewards.  The Middle class and the poor pay the price. 

I’m sure there are people who would accuse me of not being Patriotic for my opinions.

I love America, I love my Country..my family has been here since 1729 My great great grandfathers and Uncles fought in the Revolutionary War and the Civil War…….but I especially enjoy my right as a Citizen of this Wonderful Country to use my Right to Free Speech.

That actually is an insulting question in today’s world.

I do believe that no one under the age of 50 should be allowed to fight in any War. Perhaps if just old men did the fighting, they’d figure out a way to stop the Damn Wars.  The Old Men Start the Wars and then send the young people out to do the Dirty Work….The Old men get Rich and the young die or end up lame………both physically and mentally.

You offered some really sound advice.  Years ago one of my sons friends loved to sit and talk with me.

I was offereing him advice a lot………..Years later when he was a fully grown man he told me "Dona, remember when we used to have those long talks and you gave me advice, well at the time I really didn’t quite understand some of the meaning.  But now as an  Adult I remember your advice and it’s helped me in a lot of difficult situations."

That was very gratifying to me.

So again, You are right.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could have discussions instead of small wars………..

It sounds to me like the Threats from the Muslim woman’s family are toward the man…….I would fear for my life.  Honor killings still go on here in the good old USA.

I definitely would report the threats to the Police……let them advise you.

Have you ever noticed how Young people are so concerned about their Rights being denied them……..they cause the biggest loss of the Rights all by themselves.

It really gives me a kick when I see how the young kids are getting all ticked off at their parents for joining and being involved with Facebook. Hopefully they are getting some good information also about Politics etc.

I just thought of a reason that young people need to become proficient at texting.  They do this while having their music blaring in their ears. They will probably reach old age deaf and won’t even be able to hear their cell phones.  So Texting is the last resort to communications among Human Beings.

Next we will become mute………Deaf and Mute by choice…..Isn’t that sad.  LOL

I think it should be against the law to talk on a phone of any kind while driving.

We are speeding down the road/highway at speeds that KILL………..Our minds should be on the task at hand.

DRIVING………not anything else.  It was dangerous enough with women putting their makeup on while driving.

Men/women drinking their coffee…eating their breakfast or whatever food the time of day requires.  I’ve even seen people trying to read a news paper in one hand and the wheel in the other.

Young mothers trying to control and tend to their little children while driving…….(ask any young mother how distracting that is). So many normal things that distract us.

I’m surprised their aren’t more deaths.  I think it’s almost as dangerous as drunk driving.

Alcohol/drugs takes away ones ability to function safely and correctly.

So does TALKING ON PHONES……now it’s texting.  My God that’s just plain INSANE.

I’m for passing laws that forbid phone use while driving an automobile period.

It seems we as a people are determined to add more and more things that cause us to be anxiety driven.

It’s just plain crazy.

Don’t people realize how dangerous this additional distraction is to the life and limb of every person in a vehicle near the phone addicts.

I personally want to live as long as I can…When My phone rings I either pull off the road or I let it take a message and get to it when I’m not driving..Why do people want to be tied to a telephone?

Did I misunderstand……..I thought this question was written by a twelve year old.  I think your advise might be a little more than difficult for a 12 year old to carry off.

I became interested in Politics when I was just about that age…My Parents felt differently than I did.  We had some wonderful discussions.  We were taught to approach our subject matter with a great deal of passion, but never attack the other person.

Our Family ended up being half Republican and half Democrat……..that’s the same with my two children.  It’s interesting.

I think it is so unfair to always blame parents for all the problems of their children.

Yes, Parents are generally the biggest influence but remember they have many others who either lead them down the good and bad paths….teachers, friends, neighbors even the grocer down the street.  Everyone they have experiences with have a great influence….Parents can not be blamed for the total outcome.

I’ve said many times………I can and have controlled what my children did and do in my Home……I hope what I’ve taught them have been a good guide when they are out on their own.  I have no control over them out in the Big Old World.

They are individuals and make their own choices regardless of our teachings.

I’ve had more than I care to count (of broken hearts) related to my children but not caused by them.

Personally I’d rather sit up on a High Mountain and breath the fresh air instead of down in the s—t hole George Bush and his cronies left us in.

I find it hard to understand people who profess to be intelligent being taken in by these lying Republican blowhards.

The only thing I’ve ever seen Republicans be interested in is protecting the RICH………they dupe the uneducated and religious into thinking they want to help them………nothing could be further from the truth………they just want those votes and know that those people can be easily conned.
