Hi Kip - isn’t it better to do “what’s politically expedient in the most transparent way” as opposed to a hypocritical, underhanded, covert way? Don’t all politicians face the dilemma of speaking and acting in a way that will not harm their chances of being elected? Little is said about the duty of a candidate to conduct her/him self in a way that is loyal to the expectations of their supporters, especially who donate substantial amounts of time and effort not to mention $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. As ‘first partner’ (great term, did you coin it?) it HC’s duty to her husband (and president) to act in a way that was loyal to him and to official adminsitration policies. I’ve observed far less conduct in this campaign that could be described fairly in the manner Annette Benning ( I love her in “Being Julia” but didn’t realize she was recognized as a font of political wisdom — who’s she supporting now? Perhaps one day Air Force One will go down in a “snowstorm” and a man we knew little or nothing about who was picked to “balance the ticket” (a closet right to lifer?) will succeed to the office of President to the World, and we’ll all rue the day that Senator Obama did not stand up to his Hillary hating supporters and do in his heart what he knew to be the right thing by choosing her as his running mate — no, I’m not playing the ‘assassination card’, and Sen. Clinton wasn’t either — she’s a realist — they don’t call it the USKKKofA for nothing, and it didn’t start at Trinith United, the largest UCC congregation in the world — does anyone know what percentage of American presidents have been assassinated or the victim of an attempted assination? I think it started with Andrew Jackson, in 20th century we know that Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford, Nixon, and FDR were all subject to assassination attempts or plots

I’m sure this has been answered phyllis, so i won’t — just want say that ignorance never needs to be forgiven — those who admit need to be congratulated — and as to BETA, I want to acknowledge the savviness and farsightedness of this website — getting it introduced by charlie rose was a coup — also, when i sat down to check out the “ladies” this morning and the term beta crossed my mind, i had a “brain fart” (some would call it an epiphany but since my cousin in Houston read my blog and emailed to call me a pompous ass I’ve stopped using that term) — I’ve been intending to publish a book entitled WOTA (Wisdom of the Ages) — I’ve now decided to call it “Wisdom of the Ages/Beta Edition” — have a great day. My Goodness, Ashley, what can one say? You are there for each of us. None of us can be everywhere. I’m here in Honolulu today. I’ll render a needed service to a challenged individual or houseless or homeless person and think of you and your work as I do. Your heart is brave; my your trip back to us be a safe and meaningful one.
